There is a last minute anticipation for prom next week as students are scrambling to get things ready. Prom showed up nearly out of nowhere and there is excitement with a hint of nervousness, as students prepare for a dance that everyone looks forward to. Seniors and juniors are both looking forward to this dance, but for different reasons. For seniors, it will be their last dance in high school, this dance is a major event for seniors as it represents new beginnings. “I’m happy but sad at the same time.” The amount of mixed emotions is understandable. On the other hand, most juniors are excited for prom, despite it being at the end of the year. Maybe it hasn’t hit yet, but juniors are one step closer to graduating. Upperclassmen are respected throughout high school, and juniors are just excited to become a senior.
On the other hand, another event comes forward, but not just any other event, not a school event, but a celestial event. A lunar eclipse will be seen on April 8th, just four days before prom. This eclipse is a perfect opportunity for new beginnings and is a perfect backdrop for prom. So if you haven’t asked anyone to prom yet, there is no other time that would be more perfect!
