Snapping Engaging Photos

There are many people in Grantsville taking photos, but the ones pursuing a professional photography career are Jaxon Dansie, Landon Madsen, and Gage “Garry” Kimber. These Students are taking pictures and videos on a more professional level.

Jaxon takes his photos at motocross events. He used to ride motorbikes for fun but injured himself one day. Bed ridden, Jaxon decided to pick up his camera and learn how to take good photos. Jaxon says that his magnum opus is the photos he took at Formula Drift. Jaxon’s photos and videos can be found at driveby.shootings on Instagram and also drivebyshootings.smugmug.com.

Landon does somewhat similar work. But he mostly takes photos of cars at car meets. He says that he gets a majority of his inspiration from Instagram posts. Landon is always trying to find the time to do the thing that he loves, which is taking these photos.

Gage Kimber likes to video at sports events. Capturing the moments of victory and also loss. You can always find him court side videoing players dunking, punting, and serving. Garry gets a majority of his inspiration from our Commercial Art and Photography teacher Mr. Boden. Gage is always looking to create film that best describes the event and just like Landon, is always seeking time to do film.

This life of a musician is fulfilling, it is what makes him as a person, it is the reason he gets out of bed, music is the reason he feels content, music is the reason he is the person he is now. Jackson jenkins is a senior at Grantsville High School, he is a part of the school marching band as well as his own band with some of the school faculty. He is a very accomplished musician and has the instruments to prove it. Jackson shreds, his live for guitar and the sharp feeling that he gets when he plays it comes back to when he was a little kid playing at the school of rock, a school specifically for the most gifted musicians, he plays his heart to the floor every day, and he doesn't stop because he feels there would be somethings missing The goals that he has for his music are nothing short of challenging, Jackson has been shredding every day for the past 8 years for at least an hour. He says he gets caught up in the moment of playing the guitar so much that it is usually more than an hour. When he is playing music he says it is like he's speaking another language, he feels like he is creating something new and better than he has before every time he plays. The sense of accomplishment he feels every time he even puts a finger on his guitar that is always kept nice and clean for the next time he wants to make the music language that he is creating.

Kaden Allen, Photo Editor

He is always on a new adventure. On some kind of quest to do something challenging. He wakes up and seeks a new thrill. Kaden is a teenager here at Grantsville High School. He dresses with clothes he finds from different places and different sources. Everything has its story. Each item has its own tale. Like the Ocean Earth hat he wears. He attained the hat while in Australia. It’s been skydiving. Kaden has been to every corner of the world. He’s been to Australia to skydive and sail. Uruguay to hike on great trails. Africa to go on safaris, visit villages, gorilla trekking, needing to hike into jungles. He feels that doing these adventures fulfills his life and gives him meaning to his life. No matter what he has energy on these adventures, he says, “The energy just happens so I can keep on doing what I need to.” It’s a thrill everyday for Kaden Allen. Going from place to place, continent to continent. He travels onward and forward.
