Unified Basketball Wins State Championship

The Cowboys competed against the Murray Spartans for the final game in the Unified Basketball State Championship Tournament, striking gold and winning the championship with a score of 28-16.

 

“It was fun playing in the tournament I got to see all the amazing people that played. I feel proud that the team was working together and had a fun time and that we got to win state it was amazing because I knew we could do it,” said Rickee Clark, senior player.

 

The State Championship Tournament closed the Unified Basketball season on Wednesday, February 8th at Weber State University.

 

“Winning the state unified basketball tournament is like part of my thing, whenever I see Brayden shooting threes that makes me proud,” said Isaac Riches, student captain. “One thing I’d like to say is I wanted to win state for our girl’s and boy’s basketball teams.”

 

Unified Sports followers and competitors can now look forward to the third season of Unified Sports this year with Unified Track and Field coming up in the Spring.

 

“Our Unified team played with real heart and determination. They were so excited for the opportunity to play and to make it to the state finals. I can’t say enough about our Unified Partners; Max Brown, Kadence Byrd and Keltin Byrd,” said Lanae Moulton, unified sports coach. “They worked so well with the Unified Athletes.   We also had outstanding support from our student body and community.  Inclusion is a huge asset to our school and I encourage everyone to get involved.”
