With the boy’s wrestling season underway, they have had big wins and devastating losses but the boys had a big match-up against rival school Morgan High. With Morgan always being a game or match circled on players’ calendars when the time comes to play you can tell the difference in energy

“100%, everything is a little more intense. You can tell these matches mean just a little bit more to everyone than the others” said Jax Allred junior wrestler

Emotions are always high with sports games or matches like Morgan matches especially when you play these games at home on your mat.

The only thing that comes to mind is Excitement, I love the rivalry between our two schools, and its a great time to showcase what amazing athletes both of our schools have when going head to head in a dual like tonight. Said Daegan Herren senior wrestler

The players all prepare differently for matches some like to keep it simple and not worry too much, while others have pre-game rituals or superstitions that they feel must be done in a specific way or they can’t win.

“Really its all about headspace, with a match this big it is important to clear your head and just go out and wrestle. A big thing for me is to just not care about what team they are or what singlet they were. Just go out with confidence and wrestle the way I know how to and come out on top. Any match is winnable you just gotta have that mentality.” said Daegan Herren senior wrestler on any preparation changes for this match.

In the end it was morgan Trojans win the dual but the boys had several winners of their matches. Keaton Sullivan, Jax Allred, Easton Johnson and Cruz Anderson,

“Stuck him had to look up see all my fans screaming after that refs slapped the mat and that was that.” Said Keaton Sullivan senior wrestler.
