Last night the GHS Wrestling hosted a wrestling duel against the Ben Lomond Scots. The Cowboys won the duel with a team score of 57 to 18. Important match wins by Pierce O’Harden, Evan Craner, Brody Ware, Rylan Albrecht, Daegan Herren, and Ethan Rainer who all won by pin..
With over 150 fans in attendance, Keegan Kinsman, junior, said his favorite part was “Whenever we get a pin it just gets energetic… it’s always a good time when we get a pin.”
The Cowboys host their next duel against Carbon on January 19th. Jaidyn Wilder (Junior) said she looks forward to “Watchin more people get pinned baby.”
With more than half the season over Daegen Herren, junior, said “The overall growth is huge. Our athletes have come so far.” With division and state approaching fast the wrestlers are gearing up for success.
The Cowboys feel positive about the rest of the season. “I feel like we’re pretty solid for the rest of the year. There’s still a lot of good teams out there and a lot of kids we haven’t gone against.”, Rylan Albrecht, senior. When it comes to the rest of the year Albrecht says it best, “We’ll Just have to wait and see.”
